Tiny Eden Drones and Automation

Drones are the mid-game promise that Tiny Eden is not only more pots. The May 2026 playtest shipped an MVP station. The July demo post did not headline drones, so your current download may or may not include them. Check the build before you rearrange the apartment around a missing robot.

This page assumes the playtest verb list. Pair it with how to expand for rooms and with how to grow so the station is not filled with the wrong mix.

What drones can do (playtest MVP)

If the station has materials, drones were listed as able to:

• Fill pots with soil
• Plant seeds
• Water
• Remove weeds
• Harvest
• Remove dead plants
• Remove damaged leaves
• Pollinate (listed, not testable in that build)

They fail when the station is empty. They also fail when you stock a bad recipe. A drone will happily pack compost into a pot that wanted sand. Automation copies your last good habit. It does not invent horticulture.

What drones will not do

• They will not transplant a tomato from 0.5 L to 16 L because you were downstairs cooking. You still read the plant card and move the pot. See the pot size chart.
• They will not refuse a cabbage-tomato pairing. Teach companion planting before you let a drone share containers.
• They will not cook. The 1.0 FAQ still sells dishes, not raw crates. How to cook stays a human job.
• They will not unlock rooms. Cash and reputation still buy space.
• They will not fix a missing pot menu. Empty your hands first.

How to run a station without wrecking the sill

1. Get one reliable crop through harvest by hand. Strawberries plus an herb is the tier list default.
2. Write down the soil recipe that actually worked. Copy it into the soil NPK helper so you remember which bag to stock.
3. Build or place the station where drones can path to pots. Furniture that blocks a window still kills light even if a drone can reach the rim.
4. Stock soil and seeds for the plants you want, not every leftover bag.
5. Watch the first automated hour. If a pot screams incorrect mix, stop the station and fix the recipe.
6. Keep disease spray and vacuum as player tools. The same playtest added those next to drones; they are not the same system.

Do not plan a launch layout that only works if drones exist on minute one. Unlock a balcony with how to expand first. Add the station when watering twenty pots is the bottleneck, not when you still cannot find the stove’s recipe face.

Pathing, cats, and clutter

The cat is a roommate. Official posts treat “buy the cat a bed” as a real objective. A drone that cannot path around a bed will skip a pot. Leave aisles. The same rule applies to decorative lamps from the shop. Pretty clutter that blocks a windowsill is still a dead farm.

If a drone idles, check stock, path, and whether the pot is in a closed room you have not unlocked. Then check controls in case you grabbed the station instead of opening it.

After 1.0

If Bajka expands pollination or adds more drone jobs, that lands on patch notes and the roadmap. Until a Steam post freezes the list, treat this page as playtest-informed. Practise the chores by hand in the demo so a missing drone on launch morning is annoying, not a wall.
