Tiny Eden System Requirements

Tiny Eden is a PC game. The only confirmed storefront is Steam. There is no console version announced. This page copies the system requirements from the Steam store listing as they appeared before launch, plus the older playtest sheet and the demo’s Steam Deck warning. Hardware can still change in a day-one patch; always trust the live store page over a wiki.

If you are still deciding whether to play, start with Getting Started and the demo guide. Specs do not tell you if you will like mixing compost.

Windows (Steam listing)

16 GB of RAM on minimum looks high for a cozy sim. That is what the store page lists. Do not plan a 8 GB laptop around a “it is just plants” assumption.

Linux and SteamOS (Steam listing)

The store page includes a SteamOS + Linux tab. That is newer than the May 2026 FAQ line “we are looking into a native Linux port.” Use the store numbers for purchase decisions.

Minimum (Linux / SteamOS)

• Memory: 16 GB RAM
• Graphics: 4 GB VRAM, Vulkan 1.3 with mesh shader support (AMD RDNA2 or newer, NVIDIA Turing or newer)
• Storage: 10 GB
• Sound: PipeWire or PulseAudio
• Notes: Vulkan 1.3 is required. The game does not start on GPUs or drivers without mesh shader support.

If a handheld or older AMD GCN card fails to boot, it is likely the mesh-shader gate, not a missing controls file.

Steam Deck

Two official sentences exist, and they do not say the same thing:

• FAQ (May 2026): Tiny Eden will work on Steam Deck.
• Demo notes (July 2026): the demo does not officially support Steam Deck.

Play the demo on a Windows or Linux desktop if you can. Do not treat Deck as a guaranteed demo machine. After 7 September, check the Steam Deck compatibility badge on the store page and Proton reports. Accessibility flags already list Camera Comfort, color alternatives, custom volume, save-anytime, and no QTEs, which is Deck-friendly on paper.

Older playtest sheet (do not buy from this)

A May 2026 playtest post listed Windows 10, “i5,” 4 GB RAM, RTX 2070, 2 GB disk. That sheet is useful as history and useless as a shopping list. The current store page is 16 GB RAM, 10 GB disk, and a GTX 1050 Ti / RX 570 floor. Playtester.io still mirrored the old 4 GB / RTX 2070 / RTX 3070 pair at one point. Ignore it.

Storage, SSD, and installs

10 GB is small, but the additional note asks for an SSD. Indoor scenes with many plants, transparent leaves, and mesh shaders are the kind of load that hitch on a 5400 RPM drive. Install on SSD, keep Windows pagefile on SSD too given the 16 GB RAM floor.

Family Sharing and Steam Cloud are listed as features. Cloud saves help if you bounce between a desktop and a verified Deck later. They do not magically raise VRAM.

What this game is doing on your GPU

Tiny Eden is first-person, in a dense apartment, with lots of foliage. That is more like a small immersive sim than a 2D farm. Recommended RTX 2060 / RX 6600 is the “comfortable 1080p” guess, not a 4K target. Turn down foliage and shadows before you refund.

Linux users should update Mesa or NVIDIA drivers until vulkaninfo reports mesh shaders. The store note is unusually strict: no mesh shaders, no launch.

Before you refund

1. Confirm 64-bit OS.
2. Confirm 16 GB RAM actually free, not just installed.
3. Confirm DirectX 12 (Windows) or Vulkan 1.3 (Linux).
4. Install on SSD.
5. Try the demo on the same machine you will use on 7 September.

Price is $14.99 USD plus an optional $2.99 Goodies Pack. Regional prices sit on the release date page. Specs do not change because you bought cat skins.
